Say NO to refined sugars and flour & YES to this piece of healthy eggless date cake



DATE CAKE












This cake is one of those simplest and healthiest cakes from my recipe book.
All you will need is a mixing bowl, whisk and 5 minutes to make the dough :)




Ingredients
Quantity
Whole wheat flour
180 gm
Dates pulp
½ cup
Milk
½ cup
Canola oil
¼ cup
Flax seed powder(raw)
2 tablespoon
Baking powder
½ teaspoon
Honey
For drizzling


Method

  • Pre heat the oven at 350F.
  • (Preparing the dates pulp: In a bowl add 6 to 7 dates and 5 tablespoon water , microwave it for 2 miutes, after the dates cool cut them into small pieces and blend it to a coarse paste .)
  • Add baking powder, flaxseed powder to the whole wheat flour and mix properly.
  • In the mixing bowl add the flour mixture and to it add oil, dates pulp, milk, and mix it properly with the whisk and make sure no lumps are formed.
 
  • Grease the mini rectangular (pound cake) cake mould and transfer the batter in it, bake for around 45 minutes until a stick inserted comes out clean.
  • Serves 4 .




GOOD &HEALTHY REASONS TO TRY THIS RECIPE:

  • This recipe has no refined ingredient.

  • Whole wheat flour, flaxseeds and dates provides good amount of dietary fiber to this cake unlike other refined flour baked cakes.

  • Tannins found in dates have anti inflammatory properties and also they are excellent source of iron.

  • 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds provides 3.6 grams of plant omega 3 fatty acids even after baking :)
  • Flaxseeds used to substitute the egg  instead of condensed milk or other unhealthy ingredients.
