Like Beets? or Dont like Beets? Try this salad once, and I am sure you will make it every week. Good for weight loss, Good for Health!!!



  
Beet Pineapple Cheese Salad




Ingredients
Quantity
Beet
 boiled and diced 2 cups
Pineapple
Fresh 1 ½ cup diced
Cheese
Feta/Plain ¼ cup small cubes
Pepper
Coarsely crushed 2 teaspoon
Salt
To taste
Garlic Powder
2 Teaspoon
Olive oil
2 Tablespoon


Method :
Boil the beet and cut them into medium size cubes
Chop the pineapple into medium size cubes.
Crumble the Feta cheese or if it’s the plain Amul/Britannia cheese cubes, then cut in to small size cubes.
Take whole black pepper and crush them coarsely.
In a Salad bowl mix the beet pineapple and the spices all together, pour the olive oil add the cheese, toss it or mix it.
Refrigerate it or serve it as it is.
Serves 4.

Beets are a good source of potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamin A, B& C Beta carotene, Beta cyanine.

Beets are particularly beneficial to women whom are pregnant, as the vitamin B and iron are very beneficial to new growth cells during pregnancy and replenishing iron in the woman’s body.

They are a wonderful tonic for the liver, works as a purifier for the blood, and can prevent various forms of cancer.

They are low in calories and high in sugar although the sugar is released into your system gradually.

Beets are a wonderful addition to any dietary need. With their high volume of nutrients, delicious taste, and multitude of uses.
Pineapple is also a source of important vitamins and minerals such as thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, manganese and potassium and antioxidants and polyphenols, such as beta-carotene.
A higher intake of all fruits (3 or more servings per day) has also been shown to decrease risk of and progression of age-related macular degeneration.
This salad is a good way to incorporate omega fatty acids from olive oil, rich minerals and vitamins from beets in our diet, tastes yum as well as highly nutritious.

Celebrate Mahashivratri Fasting the healthy way!!



This Mahashivratri replace  the traditional high calorie snacks and meals with healthy seasonal fruits, Skimmed milk and Dryfruits.



Include Skimmed milk, Greek yogurt&low fat yogurt, Fresh seasonal fruits like Watermelon, Banana, Musk Melon, Oranges, and Sweet potatoes.
Munch on omega rich dry fruits, almonds& walnuts.
Make Sago Kheer for lunch which is high in protein and carbohydrates instead of the traditional Khicidi which definitely tastes yum but is calorie dense.
Sweet potatoes are rich in beta carotene,fiber. Boil or bake or roast the sweet potato, season with some cumin powder, lemon juice and salt.



Fruits :
Fruits, seasonal fruits are fresh nutrient rich, and full of fiber to keep you satisfied for longer time.
Make mixed fruit salads, fresh juices, also some like stir fry fruits with honey. 


Fresh and Tangy Fruit Salad.

Ingredients
Quantity
Banana
1 sliced
Orange
1 whole
Pineapple
1/2 cup diced
Green grapes
¼  cup
Black grapes
Watermelon
¼ cup
1 cup
Almonds
5 to 6 sliced
Honey
2 table spoon
Lemon juice
1tablespoon


Method:
In a mixing bowl add all the cut and diced fruits and season them with lemon juice and honey, mix it and serve it!
Serves 4.
Start you day with this Bowl full of freshness!!

Go Green Grape juice


Ingredients
Quantity
Green Grapes
4 cups
Sugar
2 table spoon
Jeera powder
salt
Pinch
Pinch


Method
Blend the grapes with 1 cup of chilled water, sugar,  pinch of jeera powder and salt.
Strain the juice and serve!!
Serves 2
Have this Refreshing drink in evening to cheer yourself around 6 pm when you will start craving for some thing.




 Dairy Products:
Skimmed and low fat dairy products are high in proteins and minerals like calcium and low in saturated fats, which suffices your hunger and keeps your sugar levels away from the yo yo patern .
You have several options from dairy for your fasting day such as Plain chaas, Masala milk, Sweet lassi, plain yogurt, smoothies, greek yogurt.


Masala Magic Milk
This is a traditional Indian way of the milk drink with spices, rich dry fruits powder and the kesar. It can be served hot or cold.

Skimmed Milk
2 cups
Almonds
1 Tablespoon
Pistachios
1 Tablespoon
Walnuts
1 Tablespoon
Kesar
Pinch
Elaichi Powder
Pinch
Ginger powder
Pinch
Sugar
1 Tablespoon


Method
Blend all the dry fruits in a fine powder.
Heat the skimmed milk, add the dryfruit powder, kesar, sugar and elaichi powder, ginger powder and let the milk boil for 5 minutes.
Serve this masala magic milk hot r chilled.
